Training Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing BetterDog for your dog training needs. To ensure a clear and successful training experience, please review the following terms and conditions. By engaging in our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Owner Responsibility

The Owner acknowledges and accepts responsibility for their dog’s behavior and actions. While BetterDog Trainers use safe, humane, and effective training methods, we cannot guarantee specific results as outcomes depend on the Owner’s consistency, the dog’s temperament, and external factors. The Trainer is not liable for any behavior issues or incidents occurring outside training sessions.

Owner Commitments:

  • Practice with your dog for a minimum of 30 minutes daily, in addition to attending training sessions.

  • Use only the techniques demonstrated by BetterDog Trainers.

  • Avoid using methods from external sources (e.g., TV shows, internet guides), as they may conflict with our training and hinder progress.

2. Trainer Commitment

BetterDog Trainers are committed to providing professional, effective, and humane training techniques to foster a positive and obedient relationship between you and your dog. The success of training requires collaboration among the Trainer, Owner, and dog. Trainers will:

  • Deliver clear instructions and demonstrations.

  • Provide tailored training plans to address your dog’s specific needs.

  • Offer ongoing support to help you succeed.

3.​ Training Sessions

a. Initial Training Session:

  • The mandatory initial session is required

  • This session includes a comprehensive evaluation, hands-on exercises, and a tailored training plan.

b. Follow-Up Training:

  • Hourly Support: for in-home training.

  • Unlimited Packages: Access ongoing training based on your selected package.

4. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Refunds: No refunds are provided after training begins, including the initial consultation or any session. This policy exists because the knowledge and techniques imparted during training cannot be returned.

  • Cancellations: Owners may cancel within 48 hours of signing this agreement. After this period, the full program fee is non-refundable.

5. Trainer-Initiated Termination

BetterDog reserves the right to terminate training for Good Cause, including but not limited to:

  • Failure to pay program fees on time.

  • Non-compliance with training instructions or lack of commitment.

  • Unsafe or abusive practices toward the dog or Trainer.

In such cases:

  • No refunds will be issued.

  • Owners remain liable for the full program fee.

6. Safety and Liability

Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog’s safety and preventing harm to others during and after training sessions. The following guidelines must be adhered to:

  • Use any recommended tools or equipment (e.g., leashes, muzzles) as instructed.

  • Follow Trainer instructions carefully to prevent injury to yourself, the dog, or others.

BetterDog Trainers are not responsible for:

  • Injuries caused by the dog to people, property, or other animals.

  • Incidents occurring due to non-compliance with training instructions.

7. Behavioral Issues

BetterDog specializes in addressing a wide range of behavioral issues, including:

  • Basic obedience.

  • Confidence building.

  • Aggression management.

  • Puppy training and socialization.

However, we do not offer services for agility, scent work, or show training. If a dog displays behavior beyond the scope of our services, we will recommend additional resources or specialized services.

8. Owner Participation

Active participation is essential to achieve training success. All individuals interacting with the dog regularly (family members, babysitters, etc.) are encouraged to attend the initial training session to ensure consistency and alignment.

9. Confidentiality

All training materials, strategies, and techniques provided by BetterDog are proprietary and confidential. These materials are for personal use only and may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without written consent.
