Jon Wells is BetterDog's lead trainer and co-founder. After 25 years in the Canadian insurance industry as an underwriter, Jon now applies the same calm, methodical approach to dog training across Ottawa and Gatineau. Known to clients as "The Calm Communicator." Nancy Corriveau is BetterDog's co-founder and lead trainer. A bilingual former project manager, Nancy delivers sessions in English and French across Ottawa, Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer, and Le Plateau.  Together Jon and Nancy have trained 800+ dogs and families across  the Ottawa Valley. BetterDog is a CAPDT-member training service. Consent-based, humane methods. Never shock collars. No treats as a crutch.

How much does dog training in Ottawa cost? Our Life Changer Session is $500 tax-in — a one-time fee per household. Approximately 3 hours in your home: 1 hour covering  the why and how, plus 2 hours hands-on training. Includes a Study Guide, recorded session, and ongoing access to online tools. Do you train dogs in Gatineau? Yes. We serve Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer, Le Plateau, Masson-Angers, Cantley, and Lochaber-Partie-Ouest. Nancy is fully bilingual.  Travel is included. How long does it take to see results? Most clients see meaningful change within 24 hours of the first session. Leash pulling, door reactivity, jumping — real progress  in 1 to 3 days when the method is applied consistently. Do you train aggressive or reactive dogs? Yes. Reactivity and aggression are among the most common issues we work with. We address them in your real environment — your home, your neighbourhood, your walking routes. Never shock collars, never fear-based methods. What's included after the first session? Our Unlimited Training Pass is $1,200 per year or $125 per month on a 12-month commitment.
